Frankfurt International School Wiesbaden

FISW has been the best part of our Ex-Pat journey. I have 2 boys, age 7 and 5 and both love to go to school. Not only that, but in a pandemic our kids safety has remained to priority. There is a very active parent group with lots of activities to join. Class sizes are small and there is a personal relationship with each teacher. My boys are happy and healthy, which makes for one very satisfied mom! We love FISW!!

Our boy has been at FISW for the 2nd year now and we could not be happier with his school experience.What we love about this school:- teacher-student ratio is amazing (our boy has had around 20 kids in his classes)- the teachers have all been so kind, caring and fun- the special needs support team is amazing and they have been so positive about our boy despite of his challenges- the teachers and staff know every kid's names, which makes the school community feel like a big family- teachers are happy to talk to parents about their kid's progress and will inform the parents about any incidences at school- the school building looks modern, bright and inviting and the outdoor area is very generous and fun- the school has a full-time nurse that takes care of minor accidents and makes parents aware of cases with contagious diseases in a class- the library is beautiful and has an amazing variety of books, including new ones- the whole campus is gated, there is a guard booth at the entrance and people have to use their badges to get entry to the campus- there is a very active parent-teacher group that offers lots of activities- lots of activities to bring the community together and get to know each other- a great variety of extracurricular classes that children (and even adults) can sign up for (sports, music, cooking, crafts, horseback riding, yoga,...)I'm sure I'm sure I've missed lots of other good points about the school. We have had such a wonderful experience so far, and have yet to find something we don't like about FISW.

Prior to moving to Germany we had a tough decision on exactly which school to send our older two children. We decided at the time to send one to the FIS main campus and our younger child to FISW. While both schools are excellent, it was almost immediate that we noticed the difference between the smaller family like campus of FISW. We ended up for the next year transferring our oldest to this campus and we have no regrets at all. Both of our children loved this campus, the teachers and staff and most importantly they felt like they were apart of a family. Everyone knew them by name and greeted them in the morning like an old friend. The communication from the administration to parents is always so easy... especially during the virtual days of the pandemic. I can not say enough about the resources available at this campus if you have a learner that needs a little more attention during the day. My children loved the after school activity selection as well as their forest day adventures. If you are even remotely on the fence about which campus to choose, I highly recommend FISW to be apart of your children's learning journey, first steps-Grade 8.

I’m gonna try to keep this short - I have three children between the age of 9-12. As wonderful and sweet as they can be, all three of them are what I would call “difficult” in terms of their attention span and willingness to learn. This is in part the reason why our kids are now on their third school - this school being FIS Wiesbaden.For the first time I have the feeling that my kids are actually “seen” - and that the teachers truly care!They address their shortcomings, but they always also focus on all the good things my little monsters have to offer and I am SO grateful for that…The campus has been expanded and is really nice. The new library is AWESOME!!! Of course the school is not as big as the one in Oberursel but especially in case of our children we appreciate the small and intimate set up.If you are German or if it is important to you that your children are excellent at writing and speaking German at Gymnasium level you just need to be aware that German is a second language at FIS.The online learning and information systems are a bit confusing (at least to someone like me and I really wish they would simplify things) but whenever that causes a problem you always have someone there to happily help you. The whole support staff at FIS is exceptionally sweet!My husband and I are grateful pretty much every day that our kids go to this wonderful school!Thank you, FISW!❤️❤️❤️
