Over crowded due to low staff not ever pushing on service or service due to more often having too many people

Easily the worst DFAC in the Army. One soldier serving while 3 stand around. Coffee is always empty, no eggs on weekends for brunch, nothing to even make a sandwich with. I can't believe they charge soldiers to eat here. No issues with the local staff, they are very friendly and willing to give you whatever they can.

Compared to my basic and AIT DEFAC's this one is absolutely awesome

Periodically, we'll update reviews based off local surveys until we PCS.Food:Like others have said, one of the worst DFACs the army could have. The staff is great and they are willing to help you happily, but when I can't even eat my food because its over spiced / seasoned, then its not a good place to eat. To elaborate, it is as if an entire can of seasoning (or salt) is poured on every single portion of entree on the worst days and two spoon fulls at best. Can't even eat the collard greens most days because of this. Its just some green vegetables. Why is it so seasoned every time? Fried foods being burned is also a minor plague to this DFAC; My potatoe slices have turned into chips. Several of us have lamented to their QR code equivalent to an ICE comment but they clearly dont listen to those.Breakfast, thank god, is the only time of day that doesn't suffer from this as bad, though it still sometimes happens.Outside of this? Their salad bar is very solid, and now its self serve too, which is awesome, and they have a decent variety of foods.Service:The people are great and they will help you. We cant even complain about the staff besides those serving look dead inside on an emotional level. Even worse, sometimes there is one soldier on the line serving a whole hoard of people. No go, bro. We're trying to get our meal in a timely manner, not when we're 80. Cant even be mad at the one person trying his best. Staffing issues is on the unit, not the individual. Maybe get the MTOE changed so some more people can be swapped and not as overworked.Atmosphere:Great, calm when they arent blasting music, and a great place to just sit and sip a cup of coffee. Decorations are a bit lacking but its an army budget, we cant live like Jay Gatsby. Its perfect for what it is.Overall:The only true reason to keep eating here is purely because the army already forces us to pay for it, so why eat elsewhere when we're on a budget. Their hours are bad too. Their sign and google page states 7:15 yet wont open until 7:30 on weekdays. but then still close at 8:45. This is the only DFAC on post. The food is why we come here, and it has sucked for a long time.!!! They're getting better and has infact been better, but this review will only change when they stay consistent with it.
