Pickup and drop off was a breeze and the staff at Europcar were a dream to deal with (Buchbinder counter was closed, with a note telling me to go to Europcar). I booked an i20 or similar and got a pretty old Skoda Fabia with 47,000 km and with absolutely no features. Not even cruise control and Bluetooth audio. If such a car is being issued, the customer should be intimated beforehand so they can choose to book another car. Europcar was handling everything that day and they were open to giving me another car, on request but none were available.3 stars because of the other good experiences and they (Europcar) even tried to get me an other car.

I saw so many bad reviews for this company so I was about to cancel my reservation. Then I remembered renting from them in Munich few years ago. Did not remember any problems. So I flew to FRA and... My rental went nice and smooth. From the counter to return. I was given a brand new car, I think I was the first one to use it. The staff was nice and polite at all times. Not even pushy selling extras. I guess happy customers just don't need to write good reviews. I am sure some people got pissed. I was happy with this company

This company is a complete scam. Avoid at all cost. Via Rentalcars.com, I booked a BMW 1 series, but they gave me a Skoda Rapid, saying its the same class, considering that on the website, they were offering 2 levels of cheaper compact class cars, and BMW being the most expensive. The car I got was not in a proper condition – it had no winter tyres. Luckily I’ve seen this in the garage, without putting myself in danger. Besides that, the person at the desk was very arrogant – he told me to go to book via Hertz or Sixt if I want a proper car. Completely unacceptable behavior by their representative….

I chose Buchbinder to rent a car despite the bad reviews, because the other car rental companies also had a similar score. This company offers a cheap base price for renting a car. I do recommend paying the price for the full insurance though, otherwise you pay 800 Euros for any individual damage that you cannot prove was there before you picked up the car. They also block a huge deposit fee on your credit card if you don't go with the full insurance. The staff was very friendly when I picked up the keys. They spoke German and English. They did not accept my debit/credit card to block the deposit fee (the same that I had already used with other companies such as Europcar and Hertz), fortunately I had another credit card which they accepted. The car was worse than I expected and full of scratches so I had to document everything in pictures and videos before driving off, which was very inconvenient. I returned the car after 10 PM by dropping the key into the indicated drawer/locker. They cancelled the deposit fee transaction on the next morning to my relief. I would not necessarily advise against renting a car here if you pay for the full insurance (which you should apparently always do in Germany), but I believe there are better car rental companies available and I would choose a different one next time.

Buchbinder rental cars was handled by Europe car staff. Super friendly. Gave me a better car than what I had booked/paid for. Would book here again.

Note Buchbinder has been bought by Europcar - no one at their Buchbinder desk. Also no GPS provided as requested. Had to use cell phone EXPENSIVE! Staff were nice and car was nice. But would book direct with agency next time to ensure GPS could be provided.

Das Auto für Terminal 2 online gebucht und Vorort nochmal am Terminal 2 vor der Reise bestätigt.Zum Termin steht das Auto im Terminal 1 und muss selber mit Koffer und Kinder das Auto vom Terminal 1 abholen.Keine Entschuldigung. Unhöfliche Mitarbeiter. Keine Hilfe.

I used Buchbinder and the associated Global Rent-a-Car for years. I tolerated the poor service at the rental station in Frankfurt Airport due to the good price. Today my flight from Chicago got delayed, and I will now arrive in Frankfurt 24 hours later. However, Global Rent-a-Car will not allow me to pick up the car tomorrow but will charge me the full price for the entire rental. So I will have no car, but they charge me the full price. I assume ethics is not a part of the companies values.

Leider muss ich eine negative Bewertung abgegeben, da mir keine andere Möglichkeit bleibt. Als wir den Mietwagen übernahmen, stellten wir fest, dass das Licht nicht funktionierte. Daher mussten wir den Wagen wechseln. Leider haben wir bei der Aktion eine Uhr im Wagen liegen lassen. Auf unsere Anfrage bei der Hotline gab es den Hinweis per e-Mail das Anliegen zu formulieren. Selbst mehrere erneute Anfragen und Anrufe führten zu keiner Reaktion. Wir müssen davon ausgehen, dass entweder keine Ordnung in der Organisation ist oder jemandem die Uhr gefiel. Daher dürfte man eigentlich überhaupt keinen Stern vergeben. Ich empfehle den Service auch nicht weiter. Das Auto war alt und sehr laut. Angaben beim Buchen, dass die Versicherung ohne SB enthalten sei, bestätigten sich an der Station als nicht dokumentiert und mussten entsprechend nachgezahlt werden. Nutzen Sie lieber eine andere Autovermietung!

The woman at the pick-up counter was bad. Dealing with her felt more like she is a prosecutor at a trial. I had taken full coverage in advance by rentalcars.com. She asked and suggested I take full coverage, when I presented I have rentalcars coverage. She took the paper from my hand, pointed towards the back of the room and asked me to go away, and said she will not give the car before I get coverage (or something like that). I repeated I have. She then mumbled something, took the paper and continued. I would have lost my place and car if I would have obeyed. This procedure has been available for god knows how long, and these people still play as if they've never heard of it. If rentalcars can't get it sorted with the companies, they should stop offering. When you order it online, it seems fairly ok, and they say the company might offer own. I think they should get this process more smooth. It is absolutely ridiculous. Also the lady said tank e5, and did not mention e10, which is available. There were about 10 people behind me, I was second, with first customer taking 15 minutes. So it is slow. When you are tired after flight and under pressure, the last you want is to confront a bad rental car person. Person at return in the garage was different, quite nice.
