Ducati 998 speciale | | The DUCATI 998 originated from the legendary Massimo Tamburini and was originally introduced in 1994 as the DUCATI 916. The decisive difference came with the successful 2002 switch from the Desmoquattro to Testrastretta engine, which is considerably more reliable and powerful than its predecessor. DUCATI produced the 998 from 2002 onwards, and until 2004, production ran at least partially in parallel to its successor the Ducati 999.
