My husband and I took German lessons with Phil during our stay in Berlin, and we both agree that he is a great teacher. The lessons with him were loaded with useful grammar and vocabulary information and still very fun and creative. I have been having private classes with Phil since 1 year every week and I enjoyed every bit of it. He is a great teacher who will be your friend at the same time. I already started my classes with him on B2-C1 level but I didn’t feel comfortable speaking in. After a year I’m able to speak in German about various topics.If you want to learn German but also make sure it’s not boring, Phil is the way to go!

Finally, a teacher who made learning German enjoyable and didn't let me give up!My lessons flow easily as Phil is very patient, and he knows how to make a connection with his students. On top of that, he is genuinely interested in my growth and tailoring classes to my level. German grammar with Phil is easy (a bit hard to believe, but it is true!), so I'd highly recommend him if you want to master this language.

Phil is the best teacher I ever had! After a very short time I already noticed a huge improvement. Not only Phil was very patient and encouraging, but he also made sure that the classes are fun, comfortable and adapted to my individual needs.He encouraged me to speak and integrate the language in my life much more, which helped me become much more confident with my German. Now I feel almost as comfortable speaking German as I feel speaking English (which I honestly didn’t think was possible). About three months of German class experience with Phil, I can say that I have had the best experience to learn a foreign language with Phil compared to other language teachers, in terms of interactive learning methods and new teaching techniques. Started working in Germany and needed to improve my German, was B1 level and a year later i can speak German fluently with my colleagues. Took the time (and knows) to not only explain the rules, but also why they are how they are. Together we made a custom learning plan, based on his teaching experience and my personal wishes. This ensured that i was always looking forward to the lessons.One of the nicest things for me was that our discussions were not just a language training, we really talked about interesting and fun stuff. Phil is a continuous learner himself, and this inspires yourself to do so too.His teaching place is well connected and in a nice neighborhood. I would recommend taking German Classes from Phil to all who just moved to Germany and needs to pick up this strange (but you'll find out, mostly logically structured) language.

Phil has been my German teacher for about a year and I cannot say enough good things about him and I still cannot believe how much I have learned in such a short amount of time. The time with Phil has not only been extremely productive and educational but I am happy to say that I've made a new friend as well!I believe what makes Phil such a good teacher is that in addition to being very patient, encouraging, and great at explaining concepts and nuances of German grammar, he is also an extremely interesting person. In our lessons, we've covered so many different topics and it is nice to have normal, adult discourse and develop a vocabulary that is not merely limited to the same, old, boring conversational basics that other language courses cover.After a few failed attempts to connect with other instructors, I can finally say that I look forward to my lessons each week!

Phil is not only a very well trained teacher, he's also a very open-minded and curious person with whom you'll be able discuss about a huge variety of topics. After some lessons with him, you'll be able to write and talk about your favorite things and you'll do it with a spotless grammar!!
