My advice is to go elsewhere. Horrible experience. The associates did not help with changing a reservation (when online did not work) and the rental was filthy. They say no smoking but our rental has ashes in the cup holders along with cigarettes. It reeked so bad we had to air it out before even using it. When brought up to the associate, we were told tobasically deal with it. On top that, we were not told that we would be responsible for Adblue on top of fuel costs. They are also way overpriced for what you get. Just go somewhere else.

Rented one vehicle, was given a massive 15 person van that ate gas, and isn’t even able to fit down the roads in Germany. Not use to driving a vehicle this big, which is why I had reservations for a small car. Didn’t give discounts for the car, and forced us to pay for the upgrade of the much larger car! Rude employees! Horrible services. Thank you for taking advantage of those that just moved here and need a car to find a place to live.

Absolutely terrible! Go anywhere else! First they gave us a vehicle with a terribly cracked window-“only car left,” even though we booked 4 weeks in advance. We spent an entire day taking it in to be repaired for them because it was unsafe to drive, and they wouldn’t take care of it (at first they wanted us to drive 6 hrs away to trade it in, but we talked to another hertz location who set up the repair). They said they would refund that day since we had to spend all day getting the windshield replaced-which they never did. Then they charged us the wrong rate and said they’d fix it when we brought it back, just to be told they can’t do that and we have to call the 800 number to get a partial refund. Then 5 months after our trip we get an email stating there was damage to the car (scratch under the mirror) and they want $1500 to fix it! We are covered through our CC company, but I feel like this is something they do to make money off of Americans who don’t purchase their extra insurance. We have pictures of the car when we turned it in, and no scratch! These people are crooks, do yourself a favor and rent from another company. I will be reporting their fraudulent behavior.

I had a very good experience with Hertz in the community center. My requested car was waiting for me. Returning the car was super simple. They emailed my final receipt, which was consistent with the quote. My rental was about half the price I was quoted at Sixt, but the one model I rented from Hertz was much cheaper than all other models on the Hertz website. Odd, but I’m not complaining. Thank you!

You know what’s really fun? Walking 25 minutes from the Air Force inn because the hours online say they are open till 2pm on Saturday and then arriving to find out that they are in fact not open on Saturdays at all. I talked to the lady at the library next door to the hertz and she said this happens every weekend and they haven’t updated their hours in years. Hope this helps somebody eventually.

Will bill you for “miscellaneous fees” and unspecified “damages” after you turn the car in, despite being no evidence or itemization of either. Hertz America also has no record of anything from this location. Scam.

Do not hire a car from here. You would think a car hire company on base would cater to military personal and their families but you will be mistaken. Car broke down on base (battery would not start) and we were told it was our responsibility to get road side assistance a visitors pass onto the base alongside a list of other bizarre and inconvenient requests. These people should not be servicing US families from Ramstein Air Base. The place is despicable, go anywhere else.
