DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. On two separate occasions their employees discriminated against me for being a foreigner and then proceeded to take financial advantage of me because they saw the opportunity to exploit someone not-German for their gain. I only went back a second time giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping that I had just had one bad experience. However, after this second time I realize it is a pattern of behavior.Both times when I tried to work with them and request further information and cooperation, they doubled down on their stance even though I pointed out lies and had witnesses to the incidents.The first time they charged extra cleaning services totaling over 100€ for a one day rental saying, and I quote “it looks like pigs were in here, we have never seen a car so dirty”. Photos attached. The second time they charged over 750€ for a scrape on the front bumper and wheel that occurred while the car was in their parking lot AFTER my rental period ended, because they were closed for a holiday. They refused to let me pay with my AMEX which provides me extra insurance protection because they said , and I quote with witnesses, “we need a Visa or Mastercard” and then after I paid admitted they do actually take AMEX but “don’t like it because AMEX is not good for their office”. When I asked to cancel the visa payment and replace it with AMEX (this all happened in the office before I even saw the rental car) they said it was physically impossible for them to do so. I have since confirmed with Avis corporate in Germany and the USA they could have in fact canceled the payment and reservation and then charged me with the AMEX on a new reservation since I had not touched the car.I have filed complaints with the Verbraucherschutz Zentrale and Avis corporation, but I sincerely do not want anyone else being taken advantage of by their predatory and discriminatory behaviors.
