Schott Acting Studio

I loved the foundations workshop at the Schott Acting studio. Matthias way of teaching is kind and thoughtful, he allowed us to explore different approaches to acting and learn how to tap into our emotions and experiences to better transport the scene to the viewer. Great learning experience.

I really enjoyed the Foundations workshop at the Schott Acting Studio. Having minimal experience it allowed me to explore areas I'd wanted to tap into, and think about approaches and angles I hadn't considered before. Matthias is very kind, welcoming and patient, making it the ideal environment.

I have take 2 courses at Schott over the last year and both have been incredible! The teaching is world class and I've come away from both feeling inspired, excited and raring to apply the tools I've learnt in my work. I am grateful to Schott for organising such a great programme of workshops and would recommend it to anyone seeking to grow their acting craft.

I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn more about acting in a comfortable space and pace! Matthias is a wonderful gentle teacher who never pushes boundaries and makes you comfortable in stepping out of your comfort zone. I’ve honestly never had more fun during any class, and have never made a better set of friends than I have during the foundation courses. Whether you want to be an actor, go to drama school, or simply just want to explore acting, this class is a perfect choice for you. You can use the activities, theories, and lessons in everyday life and benefit from them dearly. I’m really glad I took part in this course and highly encourage others to take part!

The 4 day acting workshop was an outstanding experience. Matthias created an inspiring, non threatening environment where you were always motivated to take part and explore. We had great fun learning, performing and practicing various techniques, roles, situations while bonding as a group. Matthias style of teaching is something that needs to be mentioned: he manages to get you to work to the best of your ability while keeping in the background, gently directing, prompting and sharing his knowledge. Absolutely loved the experience!

I attended the 5 days acting workshop with Matthias and really enjoyed my overall experience. Some of the things that I liked the best are:1) Matthias is a good teacher and what I find the best is that he knows how to maintain a fine balance between feedback and criticism. He gives feedback from which you can improve while at the same time he says it in a way that you are not discouraged. His feedback always comes constructively and motivates you to try more and improve. This is a rare trait to find but important to have in a good teacher.2) Matthias understands the requirement of each person and finds time to give individual feedback and work with them.3) He was very prompt in his correspondence on emails and calls, whenever needed. Even after the workshop I have written to him for guidance and he has been very very helpful.4) In general, you will come out of the workshop opening up certain new unexplored facets of your skill and personality. In our workshop, I saw all participants improve over the 5-day period.5) Venue was clean and nice.6) Quality of participants in the group was nice. Everyone was friendly and serious towards learning.I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn acting or to just find something more about their personality.Thanks again, Matthias for being a great mentor and teacher! :)
