This is a home for the elderly in Germany. As I was helping find a home for the elderly for my grandmother I had visited many of such facilities and this one is by far the cleanest. Whenever we visit (announced or unannounced) everything is clean and fresh without any odours. There are beautiful nature pictures on the walls. You can take the lift up to the different floors. As you walk along the floor there comes a sofa chair corner and books to your left, then a community kitchen and seating area , and then the private rooms with wide doors and their own bathrooms. Everything is wide and wheelchair friendly and accessible. We have often come over lunch time. Residents can eat downstairs in the dining hall or upstairs in their hall kitchen and the food always looks excellent (I have tried it once and it was great). My grandma was allowed to bring along some personal pictures and furniture so the transition did not feel so harsh. Her room looks very much like her private living room did in her old apartement. The staff is always friendly and happy to see us and we often go downstairs to take a walk through their beautiful private garden with nice plants and flowers and lots of seating areas. We then pass the dining area where they allow me to use the piano there (my grandma sings in the inhouse choir). Then we go to the inhouse cafe to drink coffee, have cake, and play board games. The doctor, hairdresser, and pedicurist comes to the home for the elderly so my grandma is truly being looked after. Whenever we call them to ask if it was a suitable time to visit and if they can write it down for Oma as she doesnt use a smart phone the team is always incredibly helpful and reassuring. I had no idea such a clean and happy home for the elderly existed. Thank You.
