Denkmal für Otto von Freising

One of the interesting things to see upon Cathedral Hill is the Otto of Freising monument (Denkmal für Otto von Freising) located in the centre of the courtyard in front of Freising Cathedral (Dom).The monument was erected in 1857 and is the work of German sculptor Caspar von Zmbusch. Here you see a stone figure of the 12th-century bishop and Middle-Age historian, robed with liturgical head covering. He has a crosier in his left arm and bible in his left hand and is peering downward as if addressing an audience of listeners. The statue is upon a basic pedestal with inscription.Have a quick look at the Otto of Freising monument before or after your visit to the cathedral.
