Old cemetary

Here was the former cemetery of Sachsenhausen. It was established in 15o8 and was used as cemetery until 1868, when the last burial took place.With Sachsenhausen becoming a part of Frankfurt, this cemetery was abandoned as there were other places now available lije the Southern Cemetery on the hill.The cemetery was turned into a park by the city and is used as playground and picknicks. Only some of the ancient tombstones still remind you of the history of this place.
