I ordered a car in advanced for 12:00 and the car was ready in time (even before because I came early and they have it ready for me). They explained to me everything and the process was very quick - they give you the car key and tell you where it parks (parking lot a few minutes walk) and you go by yourself and take it. The only thing I didn't like is that I had to add 45 euro because I took the car to Austria.. other rental companies take less and so I ended up paying more then I thought. I returned the car at the airport and it took only 2 minutes. Good experience overall.

Hatte bei Thrifty am 06. Januar 20 einen Mietwagen ab Memmingen bis München gebucht. Anstatt eine Ford Mondeo bekam ich einen Ford Connect mit sieben Sitzen. Bei dem Versuch, den Wagen am Abend des 06.01.2020 vertragsgemäß in der Elisenstrasse bzw. Hirtenstrasse am Hbf in München abzugeben wurde der Wagen nicht zurückgenommen, da das Parkhaus voll sei. Man forderte mich auf, den Mietwagen in die rund 6 km entfernte Landsbergerstrasse 368 in München zu fahren und dort abzugeben. Im Vorfeld wurde ich von Thrifty nicht benachrichtigt. Ich war gezwungen, den Wagen dort hinzubringen, dort war jedoch kein Personal anwesend und alle Parkplätze von Thrifty (bzw. Partner Hertz) waren belegt. Die Landsberger Str. 368 ist schlecht mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen, anders als der vereinbarte Rückgabeort Elisenstrasse bzw. Hirtenstrasse, der sich am Münchner Hbf befindet. Ich habe dadurch viel Zeit verloren, ärgerlich, insbesondere spätabends im Winter. Auf meine Anfrage teilte Thrifty mit, ich könne die Busfahrkarte einreichen, die Erstattung sei jedoch keineswegs sicher.

Worst Rental place ever. DON'T rent from them. I had 2 cars booked with them for the weekend and when i got there The lady asked me for proof of Insurance. I showed her the insurance i had through my personal car in Canada that clearly states it is Valid for Rental cars in Germany. She said they only accept insurance through Credit cards. I asked what difference it makes, i have proof of insurance and thats all that should matter. She said NO. I tried to call my credit card company to send me a letter of proof of insurance with them but because of the time difference they were closed. She said i had no choice but to buy there insurance or she would not rent to me. She just added the insurance and didn't even explain the different types of insurance to me. She was just quick to charge me. After all of that she then proceeds to tell me they don't have a 7 seater van and they have to give me a 5 seater, i advised her that i BOOKED a 7 seater because we wont all fit in a 5 seater car. After arguing with her (which i shouldnt have to do since thats what i booked) she gave me a Van.Then we picked up the cars, we noticed that the van had a light on about the Tire being low. We asked why that was and they said its probably a faulty sensor and it's fine. I told them no i would like another Van and they said none were available. They advised me to just go to a gas station and fill it up with Air if it gets low again. WELL BIG MISTAKE, I SHOULDNT HAVE LISTENED TO THEM. After driving the car we got a flat tire and noticed there was a NAIL in the tire. We called Road side assistance and they would not answer. I called the other number and the gentlemen said you have to change the tire to the spare yourself. I told him that i didn't know how and would need help and he said well all the repair shops are closed as its the weekend and Road side assistance isn't answering so your going to just have to deal with it. I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT? great customer service right. So now my whole weekend is ruined and i cant use the rental i paid for because you cant drive it on a spare for more than 100km.TO TOP IT ALL OFF when i returned the rental they said there charging me $197 EUROS to change the tire. So whats the insurance YOU MADE ME GET? He said you got basic insurance. They Didn't even tell me the types of insurance they provided, they were just so quick to take my money for it. I told them i picked up the Van and it had the light on showing low air on tire and he said Nope, you had the flat tire so its your responsibility.So i said okay so am i now going to get refunded for 2 days since i wasn't able to drive the rental since you cant drive it for more than 100km and couldn't use it, and he said No sorry you booked with expedia, deal with them.WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. I rent cars atleast 30-40 times a year and NOT ONCE have i ever had to go through this or had such a bad experience. I WILL NEVER RENT from THRIFTY again. You lost a loyal customer.NEW UPDATE 2 Weeks after returning the cars. I notice a charge of $1400 on my credit card when my total for the 2 cars i rented was $350. They charged me an extra $1050. When i called to ask why they said you returned the cars damaged (WHICH I DID NOT) and they said I returned the cars at a different location. I RETURNED THEM AT THE SAME LOCATION AND WENT INSIDE TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THE FLAT TIRE. They gave me a paper when I returned the cars showing that everything was fine with the cars except the flat tire on one of the cars. So now put of no where theres damage ?? There scammers. I’m so stressed dealing with this. Its Also HERTZ that rents for Thrifty and there the ones im dealing with for the extra charges. I beg everyone to not rent from them. They will lie and steal your money.
