Thrifty Duesseldorf Airport

Will never rent from them again. We were charged almost $300 CAD more then what we expected because of hidden fees and my husband spent over 4.5 hours dealing with this through Expedia with very little compensation. We've rented through other rental companies before and have never had this problem. Avoid renting through them at all costs.

Hidden bookings on the credit card that „suddenly“ appear when trying to pick up the car. DONT GO TO THIS RENTAL COMPANY.

Contraté a esta compañía para el alquiler de un coche en el aeropuerto de Dusseldorf. En su momento, hice la contratación vía online a través de su web, me cobraron el precio que había contratado (incluida la Super Cover); al llegar al aeropuerto me retuvieron en mi tarjeta de crédito unos 238€ de los cuales solamente se me han devuelto 130€. Les he reclamado ya dos veces que se me ha cobrado por duplicado la tarifa Super Cover, pero se lavan las manos y en sus emails (tardan más de una semana en responder) siempre responden con otra cosa que no tiene nada que ver con la reclamación.En definitiva, una compañía no seria y para nada veraz. No la recomiendo.

El coche genial, el trato de la empleada de mostrador, fue pésimo. El único agradable el chico que revisa el coche

No star! The worst place ever. I had booked via rentalcars and paid in advance and arrived under one hour late because i couldn’t get a cab. I walked around for 20m trying to find the place and then having to ask at every counter where they are: finally found them with Hertz. The salesperson was dealing with another customer renting fir one day - have her a small car and talked to his colleague about another rental coming up for 14 days which was mine. when it was my tune he said we only have one car left but it’s 20€ more expensive per day. I said no i don’t want that car. He said but it’s the last. I assume he gave my car to the lady before me because this way they could make a profit on me. So I refused and said what else can you offer me. He just sat there. No excuse no nothing - you were late - it’s your fault. I stormed off. It’s not about the money. It’s about the treatment. Rentalcars wasn’t better i phone them to cancel the booking and they said oh but there’s a hefty cancellation fee and you have to go back to them so they confirm that you haven’t taken the car. I said i’m not going back there and if you don’t find a solution i won’t book with you anymore either: Still pending now i will write to their customer service who are usually understanding and should pay back at least the extra insurance coverage. So i went to Avis and booked with a turkish guy who remembered me from last time and who treated me very nicely. I will just stop using brokers - and NEVER AGAIN THRIFTY!

The worst experience I ever had with a rental car company . I bookedtwice ,and paid through Ryanair - Thrifty . First time i had to wait for more than one hour at Hertz office because they had problem with Thrifty costumers .Second time one month later again the same problem . Anyway the total amount was 190 Euros for 11 days . Basic insurance CDW , thief protection , road assistance and taxes were included according their contract . I returned the car with full tank and no damages at the right day and time . Few days later I checked that my credit card has been charged with 785 Euros extra , more than 4 times the rental fee that I paid when I booked . I have been in contact with the costumer service of Hertz , but was also a very bad experience . They told me that I didn’t have any kind of insurance so they charged me with the highest insurance value and they insist that I have been informed and agreed when I picked up the car .Completely untruth. I still have the contract of Ryanair - Thrifty and also the one I got from the rental office in the Airport (Hertz) in which basic insurance , and thief protection was marked , and of course no prices at all because everything was already paid as they confimed . At the moment i'm waiting from Ryanair to solve this problem before i go on with the legal procedure. Sorry No star at all
