CIEE Study Abroad Berlin

3 weeks into eLab in London and loving it. eLab is so far a great experience overall: knowledgeable and usefull sessions with well prepared lecturers; dynamic and very relevant field visits to companies and start ups; interesting and motivational chats with successful people!! I am learning a lot, surrounded by nice people, and having a great time discovering London too! Really happy with my choice, on the way to become an Entrepreneur very soon! :D

Studied abroad here for Fall 2019. So many amazing experiences here. The staff are super friendly and they really support you in getting adjusted to the environment.

Awesome people, everybody at e Lab CIEE will support and refine your ideas, theyre resourceful and they work with individuals. It is quite central and they know all the right people and will share their experience with you

Innovative & practice orientated professors. A nice & cosy environment for studying, feels like in a co-working space.

I studied abroad here and it was the best thing I did in college. The location in Kreuzberg is the best; it’s the hippest district in Berlin. The rooms are great, and the teachers make sure you get experiences in the city for their classes.

This review is in the context of a lengthy visit to a student attending CIEE. I was in and out of the building for ten days.PROS:Safe. Never saw an intruder enter the grounds.Great neighborhood. Awesome learning experienceCONS:- [ ] No janitorial service in hallways, kitchen and laundry room. Filthy carpets in halls, ma severely unsanitary condition in the kitchen and sewage smell emitting from the floor drain and dirty floors/machines in laundry area.- [ ] Bedding is thin, old IKEA coverlets and linens. Pillows are small and pillowcases offered are mismatched Euro size.- [ ] Lighting, or lack thereof, is all poor in volume, color, power and amount of switches/fixtures. Like a prison.- [ ] Lobby cafe was NEVER open. No coffee or food offered or served.- [ ] Dorm rooms are lacking storage and surface area. Pictures show rugs and that is not the case as it’s just cement floors.- [ ] 7 washers snd 5 dryers for hundreds of students is simply not enough. Dryers don’t have sensors or dry items completely and the drying rack situation is beyond chaotic . No folding surfaces in the room and not enough baskets to avoid clothes getting dumped on the floor. Mountains of clothes both wet and dry are everywhere- [ ] Lobby fireplace was never lit even though it gets dark so early and would add much warmth snd coziness.- [ ] Don’t let the pictures fool you the facilities are sub par.For the price of admission the facilities should be improved upon.BUYER BEWARE.

I studied abroad here in 2017. I had an amazing experience. Great staff and teachers, security and dorms were top-notch. Perfectly situated in Kreuzberg, it’s an ideal spot for a university student to have as a home base.

Avoid Staying Here at ALL costs.The experience outside the hotel was great, however the hotel itself was a hole and Ryan (a CIEE staff) is incompetent.The rooms are not taken proper care of and the amenities are in horrible shape. I stayed on the 5th floor and got sick from the mold spores. If coughing up blood is the experience you want to walk away with then this is the place for you.

This space is great for working and fostering creativity. The CIEE Global Institute Staff/Faculty are extremely supportive of students and their academic interests. Thanks for a great semester abroad!
